Lifting Innovation: New Units Operational for Somaco’s Highway Projects in Romania

In January 2026, we launched the operations of two advanced beam-lifting machines designed for highway construction. This project is the result of a strategic collaboration: engineered and designed by ITS, supplied through the dealer Lifsor, and delivered to the end client Somaco, a leading company operating in the Romanian infrastructure sector.

The system stands out for its high modularity: the units can operate individually or in tandem mode, reaching a total lifting capacity of 120 tons (60 tons each).

Operational precision is ensured by a variable speed system, with travel speeds reaching up to 5 km/h. Maneuverability is a key strength: steering can be configured for 2 or 4 wheels in single mode, and up to 8 wheels when the machines work in tandem, allowing for optimized steering radii tailored to the specific needs of Somaco’s construction sites in Romania.

Lifsor Straddle carrier cranes 50T

Straddle carrier 50ton:
these wheeled cranes can lift 50 tonnes in single mode and 80 tonnes in coupled mode, and are used for lifting decks.
The cranes are manoeuvrable and you can select the 2/4 steering mode in single mode or 4/8 steering mode in coupled mode.
Its took care of the electrical mechanical and software design on behalf of LIFSOR.
ITS followed the commisioning.

Navim boarding platform

In june 2020 has been done the commisioning of the ship boarding platform used on the new Cruise ship under costruction in the Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard.
The boarding platform has been designed by ITS studio on behalf of Naval Impianti .

Straddle Carrier T37B
